YouTube is one of the biggest video sharing site and now it has become more bigger. At the VidCon 2010 conference, YouTube announced support for videos shot in 4K (a reference resolution of 4096 x 3072). It 4K is nearly four times the size of 1080p. Now you can watch High resolution videos from 360p to 4096p (“Original”).
YouTube has introduced this new feature of 4K resolution. But it also adds some negatives like, as 4k represents the highest quality of video available, for playing those videos you need a higher broadband Internet connection plus powerful computer machine with some nice high configuration or else the video will lag up playback.
YouTube said it can also support videos more than 1080p and less than 4096px, so you can upload videos of any resolution between 1080 to 4096px.You can check out some samples of Ultra high resolution videos shot at 4K camera. For viewing in 4k resolution, you need to select ” Original ” on the pop-up resolution menu on the video player.
